Lovie Heaven

Daddy came home last night from a place called Disney World. I wonder how long the plane ride takes to get to a whole new world. Probably longer than I want to sit through. I will admit, though, that the people that live there look like fun. Daddy brought me a shirt back and I had fun modeling it for him this morning.

I also showed off my new upside down trick for Daddy. I realized this could be a game. I can balance on one hand and reach back between my legs with the other. Daddy said something about my training to be a football player but I don’t really know what he meant.

I have noticed that a “new” lovie seems to appear each morning. I’m not really sure where my old one goes. Tonight, I made a discovery. The middle drawer was open on my dresser and, now that I’m tall enough now to see in it, you won’t believe what I found. It was a whole pile of lovies!!! I think I heard the angels in lovie heaven sing when I saw them – truly. I pulled them all out for a big hug and then tried to figure out how I can carry all of them. That was a harder task than I expected. Every time I though I had them all, I would drop one.

A Better Day

As I mentioned yesterday, I needed to recharge. Apparently, I needed it more than I thought. I was still snoozing when Mommy came in to wake me up (with the camera already clicking, geesh). I feel much better today. That being said – Let’s Play!

After daycare, Mommy and I went out again in my wagon. It was a whole new experience tonight. The sunset was beautiful! I couldn’t have asked for a better night. I love to comment on the scenery so I started my dialogue the moment we walked outside. In answer to the question I know you are about to ask, yes, I have learned how to talk around my pacifier. I’m nothing if not a multi-tasker.

In the event people (Mommy or neighbors) aren’t listening to me, I have started raising my right hand with my finger pointed. For some reason, this seems to get everyone’s attention. Whatever works.

Cranky Pants

I know some people never like admitting they are anything but perfect. I take a different approach. I call it like it is – or like I see it. I will readily admit that tonight I wasn’t the smiling, happy child my Mommy would love to see all the time. I just didn’t feel like smiling tonight. I can’t even remember what was bothering me. Teeth, tummy, diaper rash, hunger – who knows. Mommy tried to cheer me up by helping me put on a new outfit and taking me out for a ride in my wagon. Even that didn’t work tonight. Tonight I just needed to recharge. Once I was in bed, I was “A” okay. Sorry, Mommy. We’ll play again tomorrow.

Upside Down View

Mommy and Daddy came home today! Well, Mommy came home. Daddy was home for about an hour before he had to leave on a business trip. Soon after Mommy got home, Gam left. I had so much fun over the past few days that I was sad to see her go. My sadness quickly as Mommy smothered me in hugs and kisses. I don’t know why but hers are definitely the best. We played all afternoon and even ventured out for a walk. At some point, I showed her my new trick. I can turn upside down and see through my legs! The only problem I have is when something moves out of my field of vision. I haven’t quite figured out how to move while I’m upside down.

After all of our playing, I had quite the appetite for dinner. Mommy kept referring to me as a horse. I would reply saying, “No Mommy, I’m not a horse. I’m a baby.” I’m not sure she understands Babble either. What’s with these people!

The Silver Card

I got to venture out to a new restaurant today. Gam, Phyllis, and, I went to the Cheesecake Factory. Man, were those plates of food piled high! After we ate, I saw Gam pull out a familiar piece of plastic. It looked just like Mommy’s. I gave her my sweetest look and without any hesitiation she handed it right over. I’m quickly learning Gam gives into my whims and pleas with much quicker than Mommy or Daddy. I haven’t quite figured out what this silver piece of plastic does but I do see Mommy using it an awful lot. I played with it a while before laying it back down on the table for Gam. I’ve learned I can play with it (even chew on it a little) but I can’t keep it. After a while, Mommy always whisks it away into the dark recesses of her purse. I’m not quite sure Gam saw me lay it back down because we left it on the table. I kept trying to tell her that as we left but I don’t think she has learned to speak Babble yet.

After we got home, I teased Baily from inside and then took over her pillow on the floor. I’ve learned that dogs really are a girl’s best friend. When I don’t want to eat something, I can throw it on the floor and she will make it disappear. When I’ve been having a bad day, she will come give me wet doggy kisses. When I want to play outside, she will sit by the door and Mommy will open it. We have this team play going that is perfect!

Little Wildcat

Since I couldn’t be in New Orleans with Mommy and Daddy cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats, I decided to use my PJs to express myself. I even ventured out to the Cracker Barrel (in the heart of UT territory) proudly sporting my blue and white. I was ready for someone to give me a hard time about it but, surprisingly, no one did. I was ready for them though! Gam and Phyllis got to talking so long on our outing that I decided I needed to take a cat nap right there at the table. Don’t they know how this works? Saturdays are for getting up early and going out to a big breakfast and then coming home for a nice nap.

So Much To Do, So Little Time

Gam had a cute new outfit for me to put on today. If I get a new outfit everytime she spends the night, maybe I need to work a deal so that she comes at least once a week. I also got to wear my new polka dot shoes. After I got all dolled up, we headed out to stroll the neighborhood. If a girl’s gonna go through the effort to get all cute, she’s gotta strut her stuff to show it off. Unfortunately, there was no one in sight. Oh well, Gam and I had fun. She even picked me a flower from the trees. While flowers look nice and pretty, they don’t taste very good. Note to self: Do NOT eat flowers from outside, only the kind made of sugar.

After I was ready for bed, I had a surprise visitor. Phyllis, Mommy’s old babysitter, drove all the way over from Knoxville. She even brought me a teddy bear! I like her already.

While I was at home today, Mommy and Daddy were down in New Orleans cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats in the SEC tournament. C-A-T-S! CATS, CATS, CATS!

A Bagful of Fun

I’m starting to realize there are advantages to Mommy and Daddy being gone. Every time I’ve been left with my grandparents, I pretty much get to do whatever my little heart desires. I’m glad they don’t seem to know Mommy’s favorite word – “No.” Today, I found a bag Gam brought with her. It became by play station for quite some time. I pulled everything out of it, then I decided to get in it. I even talked Gam into feeding me a snack while I lounged around in it. Is this the life or what?

Later, I just relaxed by letting the air from my elephant flow through my hair. I should probably have been more productive today…but who cares.

Left Behind…Again

I’ve started to realize that when my any of my grandparents show up, Mommy and Daddy seem to disappear for a few days. I can’t figure out why I never get to go with them to the fun places. I heard Mommy mention something about New Orleans this morning and saw their suitcases all packed. The next thing I know Gam arrives and Mommy and Daddy are gone. I don’t like this one bit! Next time, I’m going to have to figure out how to hide inside one of their big suitcases. I could stash a bottle and some snacks in there with me and be just fine. Oh, and a pacifier and lovey. Maybe a few cute outfits and shoes too. You don’t think they’d notice, do you?

Princess Peek-a-Boo

Grammy and Pop-pop brought me a Princess tent when they visited in February. I invited Mommy to join in my fun today while I played with it. I don’t know how she did it but somehow she got in it. I didn’t think she could crawl in the small entrances. I turned my back for one minute and when I looked she was inside my tent! How on earth did she manage that? Silly Mommy.

Later, I decided to show off my walking skills. I’m getting better every day. I still have a little trouble with my balance. For some reason my tushie keeps pulling me down. If this doesn’t change soon, I might start getting a complex that my tushie’s too big.
