Becoming a Walker

I can’t believe it! I finally did it. I took my first steps with my walker today – and I even had on my hip brace. I’ve been trying to tell Mommy the brace wasn’t going to slow me down. Now I’ll have something exciting to show Mommy and Daddy when they get home.

Pop-pop was able to take a video of me so I could share it with you. You’ll see me fall at the end of it. While I might have shed a few tears, I want to assure you I was fine. I’m a tough girl. I got right back up and off I went again.

Wanted: My Parents

I quickly realized this morning that Mommy and Daddy weren’t anywhere around. At first, I was okay with this since Grammy and Pop-pop were with me. Then, I started to worry and even miss them a little. I found this picture of them on the bookshelf. I started to put out a Wanted Ad to start the search for them but, before I could, they called us on the computer.

Now, I will admit, I’m somewhat tech savvy. I’m not trying to toot my own horn, but I am a 10 month old blogger. You have to admit that’s somewhat impressive. Even with my knowledge of technology, I still don’t understand how Mommy and Daddy were there on the screen talking to me. All I really understood were the words “vacation,” “Antigua,” and “home on Wednesday.” I can’t believe they had the nerve to go on vacation without me! They didn’t even ask my permission.

Nighttime Snuggles

I just realized I’ve almost spent more days at home this year than I have in school. It’s kind of nice being able to get up every day and stay in my jammies until after my morning nap. After shooing Mommy and Daddy out the door, I had Grammy and Pop-pop all to myself again. I wonder if I could convince them to stay in Nashville.

Nashville has a lot to offer – for Country music lovers, there’s the Country Music Hall of Fame; for all music lovers, the Ryman Auditorium; for outdoor lovers, there are tons of parks and bike paths; for food lovers, there are plenty of restaurants; and, for those in need, there are great hospitals and specialty doctors (hint, hint Grammy).

Going, Going, Gone

I was so consumed with playing today that no one remembered to snap a picture. I guess that tells you how much fun I had. I kept Grammy and Pop-pop busy. It’s kind of nice having multiple people willing and able to do my bidding. Somehow I don’t think Mommy would want me to get too use to this.

Time to be Spoiled

I had so many wonderful surprises today and that’s not including the fact that it was Wednesday (hump day). First, Mommy arrived to pick me up. Then, after I was all ready for bed, Mommy and I go to the front door and there’s Grammy and Pop-pop! I couldn’t believe they came all the way from Albany, NY just to tuck me in bed. They even brought me a Minnie Mouse from Orlando. We played until my eyes go so heavy they just wouldn’t stay open.

Bathtime Fun

As I’ve said before, I’m a list maker just like my Mommy. This list, however, is fun. Here are 7 things I love about bathtime:

1. It’s the only time I don’t have to think about anything but splashing and watching my parents smile from the side.
2. For these few minutes, I don’t have to feel guilty about getting something on the walls.
3. I love the way the water clumps on my lashes, forming little starbursts above my eyes. I look like a star.
4. Shampoo-mohawk photos.
5. With Mommy and Daddy sitting still, I can really tell them about my day.
6. Name something cuter than a baby in a hooded towel. Yep, that’s what I thought.
7. I smell so squeaky-clean and sweet when I get tucked into bed.

Becoming a Book Worm

I’m always seeing Mommy and Daddy with their nose buried in a book. and I’ve never really understood why. My room has shelves full of books but none of them seemed that interesting. Recently, I’ve started noticing the fun textures in some of the books and the colorful pictures. Now I face the problem of figuring out which book to read each night. Tonight, I pulled out some of my favorites. I wonder if I can get Mommy to read them all to me?

Supergirl goes Shopping

To give Mommy a little time alone, Daddy and I went on an outing. I could have guessed several places Daddy would take me and I would have been wrong every time. We didn’t go to a bar, the park, the bookstore, or Target. We went to the mall. Can you believe it? Daddy voluntarily took me to the mall! Just wait until I tell Mommy. She can’t ever get him to go there without a good reason.

While we were there, I found a nice dress. I also found some bubble bath and convinced Daddy we should buy it for Mommy. She loves her bubble baths. I wonder if she will ever left me get in and splash around with her.

Big Shoes to Fill

You don’t have to say it, I know. My tush is the cutest one out there. Somehow I got to go naked again today. That’s twice in three days! I thought I might try my luck by reaching for the beer that was on the table. Apparently, that’s where my luck ran out. Mommy wasn’t going to allow that.

Later, when I was dressed again, I found a pair of Daddy’s shoes. I’ve heard the saying “You’ve got some big shoes to fill.” After inspecting them, I can confirm that the saying is definitely true in my case.

Daily Ponders

I find myself often pondering different things. Do you do that?
This morning I watched Bailey roll around and make funny noises and I began to ponder whether or not I would like that. Before I made the effort to get on my back, I decided the answer was no. Later in the day as I was eating, I began to ponder whether or not I should throw my food or eat it. I made the wise decision to eat most of it – but I did get a few pieces to Bailey before Mommy caught me. My last ponder of the day was how long I could talk Mommy into rocking me before she put me in my bed. I must have fallen asleep because the last thing I remember is looking up at her…
